• Videos below ~30 MB usually send successfully.
• The exact same video can be sent successfully via Attach → File.
• The issue occurs in all chats.
• The problem started immediately after migrating to a new OnePlus 15.
• Clearing cache did not help.
• Clearing app data did not help.
• Completely uninstalling Telegram, rebooting the phone and installing the latest version from Google Play did not help.
• Battery optimisation is disabled for Telegram.
Most importantly:
Telegram X works perfectly on the same phone using the same Telegram account.
• No crashes when opening the emoji panel.
• No crashes when opening the gallery.
• The same videos upload successfully.
This strongly suggests that the issue is specific to the official Telegram client rather than the device, Android installation or Telegram account.
If needed, I can provide a screen recording and a bug report (logcat).
Steps to reproduce
The issue is intermittent but easy to reproduce.
Crash #1 (emoji panel):
Open any chat.
Tap the emoji button.
Telegram crashes.
Crash #2 (media picker):
Open any chat.
Tap Attach.
Open Gallery.
Select a video larger than ~40 MB.
Telegram crashes before sending.
The exact same video can be sent successfully via Attach → File.
Telegram X on the same phone and the same account does not crash.
Hi! I have generated an Android system bug report, but the issue tracker only allows attaching images. Could you please advise how you would like me to send the ZIP file?
