I would like to report a performance issue in Telegram on my iPhone 17 pro running iOS 26.4.1.
When I use Telegram continuously for an extended period of time, my device becomes noticeably warm. I have already disabled automatic media downloads, which significantly reduced the heating, but the device still gets warmer than expected during regular use of the app.
I would appreciate it if your team could investigate whether there are any background processes, media handling, caching, or other performance-related factors that may be causing increased CPU or battery usage.
Thank you for your attention to this issue.
Device: iPhone 17
iOS Version: 26.4.1
Telegram Version: Latest available version
Steps to reproduce
Open Telegram on iPhone 17 Pro (iOS 26.4.1).
Use the app continuously for an extended period (e.g., 20–40 minutes) in chats, channels, or feeds.
Observe device temperature gradually increasing during normal scrolling and messaging.
Optionally: disable “Auto-download Media” in Settings → Data and Storage (already done in my case), then repeat usage.
Continue using Telegram (scrolling chats, viewing media, switching between channels).
Notice that the device still becomes noticeably warm, especially during prolonged use
Same issue after visiting chats with topic mode.
