On Android, if someone runs an advertisement in Telegram’s Global Search, your channel or profile with the target username stops appearing. When it doesn’t show up immediately in search results, a huge amount of traffic and clicks are lost — the very reason people spend large sums buying NFT usernames.
For example, in my channel @anime, after this feature was introduced, the number of visits dropped several times because my channel disappears from search on Android whenever another ad is displayed — even though it should always appear in the top three results.
On iOS, this problem doesn’t exist — Telegram Ads appear along with three channels, one of which is mine, with the target username.
It should be fixed so that on Android, three channels also appear alongside the ad, ensuring my username remains visible in search.
Screenshot 1: My username @anime disappears from search due to an ad on Android.
Screenshot 2: When no ad is shown, @anime appears in Android search.
Screenshot 3: On iOS, both the ad and @anime are displayed — as it should be.
Steps to reproduce
Go to search (Android app)
Type "anime"
If there is a Telegram Ad on top, @anime is not visible on search
