In private mode I'd expect all information to be gone one I close that browser session / window. I just tested it and when I open private mode, log in, open another tab (same private mode session, which does usually share all data for all other web sites), it behaves the same:
So for both private/regular view, even when another tab is still open with webz, the new tab will very shortly show the Tg window, all chats available it seems (possibly cached locally?), then immediately replace that with a login screen.
Looking at the console, I see lots of "yellow" lines (warnings), though I get similar ones after I log in, so unsure if they hint at the cause.
Not sure I can attach more than one screenshot here. A selection:
Failed to retrieve or parse session from storage
QuotaExceededError: The current transaction exceeded its quota limitations.
Exception { name: "NS_ERROR_FILE_NO_DEVICE_SPACE", message: "", result: 2152857616, filename: "", lineNumber: 0, columnNumber: 0, data: null, stack: "" }
Additionally I once saw a failed connection to pluto.telegram.org - though that as well was when I was logged in, not during the "new tab, requires re-login"-phase.
Lastly I tried in Chrome. It seems to work there. Unfortunately Chrome is my "Test-Browser" which get's cleaned regularly, so for persistent login sessions I would be back at square one :)
> Ok, this warning led me to clearing site storage in Firefox for some other domains (the old web.telegram.org still used up 2 GB of data) and after a browser restart this problem went away so now I'm staying logged in.
Zefiro Anthragon, Eno Thiemann, please let me know if this helps.
