There seems to be like a new bug on MacOS Telegram (2-3 weeks old now)
Let's say I was chatting with someone and I just close the app with Command+W (which closes window, but does not quit the app).
After I close the window it still says that I am online and messages are read from the opened chat. It wasn't like that before.
So what I think happens that previously, when you closed the window Telegram app was smart enough to exit the chat, so that it would not read it in the background.
Right now it just leaves chat open in the background, reading messages and consequently not sending any notifications neither to phone or MacOS app.
Steps to reproduce
Open a chat with someone
Close window (without quitting app, so that it would still run in background).
After someone messages you, you won't get any notification, but person messaging you will see that you read the message.
Device info
Telegram macOS 9.0.1 (237033) STABLE, MacBook Pro 16", 12.6
I'm also seeing this: chats are being read, no notifications. I've restarted both devices, reset notifications, ensured background refresh was on, notification permission is on, Focus modes off, low battery mode off, switched between mobile data vs Wi-Fi. No difference.
MacBook Air (2020) M1 Telegram 9.0.1.237033 (via the AppStore) // macOS 12.6

I sent an official Telegram "support" message earlier; we'll see what happens.

The developer of the macOS version has replied! It'll be fixed in the next beta and stable soon-ish?
