Right now, the Translation Platform and Telegram itself uses the ISO 639-1 codes to represent languages. This stardard defines 2-letter codes for each major language, but it's limited to major world's languages.
The ISO 639-3 defines 3-letter codes to expand ISO 629-1 with an aim to cover all known natural languages. It provides an enumeration of languages as complete as possible, including living and extinct, ancient and constructed, major and minor, written and unwritten.
