An Reply privately button in context menu for messages sent to a group so you can reply and preserve the context of the original message by showing a preview of the replied message and a button to open the message in the group's context.
Workarounds
They require extra taps and are not easy for the average user:
Create a reply, tap the reply preview above the input field, select 'Reply in Another Chat', then choose where you'd like to send it.
Issue: Difficult to find the user if you don't have a chat with them
B: Forward + Reply
Forward a message from a group > Find the user you want to reply in private > Send your reply with the attached fowarded message
Issue: No link to open the message in the original context.
C: Copy Message Link + Reply
In supergroups you can use Copy Message Link > Find the user you want to reply in private > Send your reply with the link to the message in the group.
Issue: No direct preview of the replied message.
D: Cmd/Alt + Click on Reply button (TDesktop only)
You can hold Cmd/Alt and click on Reply button in message context menu as a shortcut to reply in another chat on Telegram Desktop app — https://desktop.telegram.org/
WA and Tg already share many features, this is one of the niche but used features that I get a little annoyed by and produces frition, not because it's harder to forward the message but because 1. not everyone gets the context that I'm replying to their message as the a message attached mostly comes before the forwarded message. 2. and more impartantly the forwarded message doesn't link to the orginial location and the linked approach not only doesn't work in all groups, but is also lengtheir and adds to the no. of steps which should just be 1, and also doesn't provide any indicator preview suggesting that the provided link is about the message as the link will have to be added to the feedback to the ans
the other point of yours being that it is not widely used is just plaing untrue or just applies to you or your friend group, as I had even many of my technologically literate friends message me many times with the forwarding message approach, but to enhance the user experience would be much better

I'm in favor of this feature being added.

I strongly agree. I've already noticed this feature missing several times already. It would be a huge time saver.

This kind of defeats the beauty of a group chat, doesn't it? I mean, why would you want to chat 'privately' *inside a group?* If you want to discuss anything in private, go ahead and start a 1:1 chat, that's literally two clicks!
Replying "thanks" to a public answer to a public question does not only concern two individuals, it concerns the whole group. This is called "social behavior".
Sound like an anti-social "feature" to me. Maybe I'm missing something, so I hope someone can explain this better.
"go ahead and start a 1:1 chat, that's literally two clicks"
yep, that's exactly what we want, requires atleast 5 click, we want to reduce it to 1...
everything doesn't hv to be shared with everyone, being anti-social feature is okay, Tg is a messaging app, that's what it's supposed to do... being private

Yes, please add this feature. Happened a lot of times that that require replying privately.

We need this feature! It would be so handy, especially for large group chats, please add it on the next update!
That's not anti social. It's like wispering to sb when talking in a group. Sometimes you don't want to disturb the public discussion or have an answer that's not for everybodies ears. Let me give you an example: If some people are planning a surprise for a person and somebody asks sth about that without noticing that it's about that surprise, then you can answer him or her personally in a 1:1 chat to make clear: "don't talk to much ;-)".
Therefore you could press and hold the original message and tap on "reply privately" to preview and link that message in the 1:1 chat. (My suggestion for solving this).
My initial comment was before the OP text was changed. Original text was proposing something crazy like 1:1 private chat INSIDE a group chat, like some kind of "replies" inside a group that would be hidden for all members but only visible to the person who is replied at... Something crazy like that, lol.
Being able to reply to someone's group-message in 1:1 chat would be a good feature, I agree.
