Grouped large uploads are often done 100%, but then don't get sent. All
files have a checkmark, but even if I wait for hours, the overall
message still has a clock icon and does not appear in the chat. This
started happening somewhat recently and affects at least Telegram
desktop 2.8.10 and 2.8.4, Telegram Android 7.8.2 and Telegram web "K"
0.6.2 and my three devices. (The "Z" version of Telegram web just
doesn't even start with the upload of somewhat large files, the "legacy"
version cannot group files and Telegram X falsely claims that the files
were too large.) So this seems to be a server-side issue.
I cannot provide the affected files, because they are DVD backups and publishing them would violate copyright. But since this happened with multiple different 20GB uploads, it will probably happen with all of them. Note that sometimes it does actually work, but most of the time it does not. 7zip's file splitting feature should be a pretty easy way of generating 10 exactly 2000MB big files. But since this also happened to me with only 8 files before, it probably doesn't actually have to be that close to the limit.
This might be resolved now. Four such uploads in a row have worked. (These were all the same files though, because I just dumped multiple copies into Telegram in the hopes that one would actually succeed over night.)

Or not… It's still broken, I just got lucky with a few in a row.

But now it might actually be fixed. It has worked quite a few times in a row now.

This is indeed fixed now, it hasn't happened to me in years.
