When you finish listening to a voice message in a chat, most Telegram clients immediately perform a jump (no matter how long) to the next voice message and start playing it.
It is very comfortable in the chats that contain only (or mostly) voice messages.
It is mildly comfortable in the chats where the volume of text content and voice content is approximately equal and thus it is still somewhat comfortable to read text messages between voice messages while listening to the latter.
However, it is super uncomfortable in the chats where voice messages are rare and occasional. A long jump to the next voice message can throw you through many days and through hundreds of messages, instantly marking all of them as read (it causes noticeable and irreparable damage: Telegram will never let you unread your read messages) and also not providing any convenient “Back” button (except maybe the quick succession of the buttons “Previous voice” and “Pause” and an additional click or tap on the voice panel to show that voice message in the chat, and I really mean “quick succession” if the previous voice message is only a few seconds long, such as some short and emotional reaction, a human voice equivalent of an emoji).
This uncomfortability is a cause of great and neverending hatred towards voice messages, and in large chats advice memes are becoming too common (such as https://t.me/tginfochat/1123988 and https://t.me/tginfochat/1123970 for example) that recommend not sending any voice messages if you have your limbs intact.
However, as far as I understand, voice messages' authors are innocent. Applications' design is to blame.
Hence the suggestion: add a new setting to Telegram client applications, a setting to control the jump between voice messages. Provide the following three options:
① Always jump to the next voice message.
② Skip at most 7 non-voice messages. (Here “7” should be editable.)
