Sending a GIF with an attached caption in a secret chat causes the Telegram Android app to crash. After the initial crash, the application becomes permanently inaccessible because it crashes every time it is launched.
The issue occurs when selecting the option to add a caption to a GIF by long-pressing it and then sending the GIF in a secret chat.
Steps to reproduce
Start a secret chat.
Long-press a GIF and select the option to add a caption.
Send a message to the secret chat.
Send the previously selected GIF with the attached caption.
Observe that the application crashes.
Try to reopen Telegram. The application crashes again on startup every time.
Current result
The application crashes when sending a GIF with an attached caption in a secret chat. Afterward, Telegram crashes on every startup, making the application permanently inaccessible.
Expected result
The GIF with its caption should be sent successfully in the secret chat without causing the application to crash. The application should remain accessible after sending the GIF.
Any chance you can try to reproduce again in the store version (from telegram.org/android) and when you have the crash, update to the provided link to see if the issue is resolved?
Can you: Remove that app Install from the website telegram.org/android Reproduce the crash there Install fixed APK on the top of it from https://t.me/testbetabugapk/4 Confirm if it still crashes or it's resolved
I'm trying to reproduce it on that version but the GIFs are just sending normally. But when I tried on the beta yesterday I had the same issue. I'll keep trying.
