The Bot API documentation for rich messages states: "Plain URLs, e-mail addresses, username mentions, hashtags, cashtags, bot commands, phone numbers, and bank card numbers are detected automatically."
However, hashtags in messages sent using sendRichMessage are not tappable in Telegram for Android. Tapping a hashtag does not open hashtag search, unlike in regular bot messages.
Both plain-text and bold hashtags exhibit the same behavior.
Both API calls returned HTTP 200. The hashtag is plain text within a paragraph, with no custom tags or entities.
Steps to reproduce
Call sendRichMessage without skip_entity_detection, using rich_message={"html": "<p>Test B #id123 plain</p>"}.
Call sendRichMessage again, using rich_message={"html": "<p><b>Test A #id123 in bold</b></p>"}.
Open the chat in Telegram for Android.
Tap #id123 in both messages.
Current result
Tapping #id123 does nothing in either rich message, regardless of whether the hashtag is bold.
Expected result
Tapping #id123 opens hashtag search, as it does in a regular bot message.
