I have an active, fully paid Telegram Premium subscription, valid until April 2027. However, when I try to edit the caption of an existing photo post in a channel, Telegram incorrectly tells me that the caption is too long and suggests purchasing Premium to increase the character limit.
The original long caption was published successfully while my Premium subscription was active. I am only trying to add a short passage to the existing caption, but Telegram appears to apply the non-Premium character limit and prevents me from saving the changes.
I reported the same issue previously, but received no response. The problem eventually disappeared without any action on my part, but now it has returned.
I am not attaching screenshots because this is a public bug report and I do not want to disclose information about my channel.
Current result
When I edit an existing photo caption and add a small amount of text, Telegram displays a character-limit warning and suggests purchasing Premium, even though I already have an active subscription. I cannot save the edited caption.
Expected result
Telegram should recognize my active Premium subscription and apply the corresponding caption length limit when editing existing posts.
Scroll to the bottom and long-press "Telegram for Android". Then release and long-press again. A debug menu page will appear. Select "Enable logging". Close the app. Reopen the app. Wait until the issue occurs again. Try to remember the time it happens. Then Open Telegram settings, go back to the debug menu and select "Send logs". You can upload them to some cloud service and provide a sharing link
I enabled logging and restarted Telegram as instructed. After restarting the app, the problem disappeared, and I was finally able to edit the photo caption successfully.
Since the error did not occur again after logging was enabled, I have not collected or sent any logs.
I have left logging enabled in case the problem returns. This is the second time the issue has disappeared on its own, so I am concerned that it may happen again.
Subject: THIRD OCCURRENCE — Telegram Demands Payment for an Already Paid Premium Subscription
This is now the THIRD TIME I have encountered exactly the same bug!
I have an active, fully paid Telegram Premium subscription. Yet when I attempt to attach an image to my post, Telegram demands that I pay for Premium AGAIN.
THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.
I have already reported this problem twice. Apparently, neither report has resulted in a permanent fix. The same malfunction keeps returning, preventing me from publishing my posts normally and wasting my time.
Why does Telegram repeatedly fail to recognize a subscription that has already been paid for? Why should a paying customer have to deal with the same malfunction for the third time?
I am attaching the latest logs documenting this recurring bug.
I demand that your developers investigate the actual cause of this problem, fix it permanently, and ensure that it does not happen again.
I do not need generic troubleshooting advice or another temporary workaround. I need the service I have already paid for to function reliably.
I HAVE PAID FOR TELEGRAM PREMIUM. I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT A SECOND TIME JUST TO ATTACH AN IMAGE TO MY POST.
Three occurrences of the same bug are not an isolated inconvenience. They demonstrate a persistent failure to resolve a problem affecting a paid service.
I expect a substantive technical response explaining why this keeps happening and what measures will be taken to prevent further recurrences.
Hello. Since logs were enabled, can you please post them to a channel and share its link? As explained in the previous comments, this is the only way understand the issue. Please open the debug menu ,select send logs, Create a Telegram channels, and share its link here.
Since the error did not occur again after logging was enabled, I have not collected or sent any logs.
I have left logging enabled in case the problem returns. This is the second time the issue has disappeared on its own, so I am concerned that it may happen again.
