Telegram crashes consistently on iOS after logging into an account.
The account itself works normally in Telegram Web.
In the iOS app, I can log in and access Settings and Contacts. I can also open individual chats through Contacts or Search. However, opening the main chat list causes the app to crash.
I can also open a chat through Contacts, type a normal text message, but the app crashes when I press Send. This happens even with plain text and in different chats, so the issue does not appear to be related to a specific chat, emoji, sticker, GIF, or media file.
I have already updated iOS and completely reinstalled Telegram, but the issue persists.
The crash log indicates a SIGABRT and includes the following functions:
The app is currently practically unusable on iOS, while the same account works normally through Telegram Web.
A full crash log and screen recording are available and can be provided to the Telegram QA team if needed.
Steps to reproduce
Launch Telegram normally by tapping the Telegram app icon — the app immediately crashes.
Long-press the Telegram icon and select “Change Icon”.
Telegram opens through this menu instead of crashing.
From there, Settings can be opened normally.
Contacts can also be opened normally.
However, tapping Chats causes Telegram to crash immediately.
It is also possible to open a chat by going through Contacts, selecting a contact, and opening their chat.
The chat itself opens normally and I can type a message.
When I try to send the message, Telegram crashes immediately.
This happens with a normal text message and with different chats.
Telegram Web works normally with the same account.
Reinstalling Telegram and updating iOS did not resolve the issue.
The crash is reproducible every time.
Update: I reproduced the crash again and obtained another iOS crash log. The same DCTMultiAnimationRenderer-FirstFrame → rlottie::Animation::renderSync → LOTPolystarItem::updatePath → VPath::VPathData::addPolystar → __cxa_throw → abort stack is present in the new crash log.
