In this proposal the focus is on a potential feature for music listening within Telegram.
There is a function that lets users add audio files to a personal library. As an example when a person obtains an MP3 file from an external source, they are able to upload it to the platform. By looking at VK, one can see how people already store their own media. As an extension a public catalog exists where others find and save those shared tracks.
To help people find new content, Telegram can automated systems. If a user starts a radio based on a single track, the system plays similar music. With a personalized recommendation tool like “My Wave”, the service suggests songs that match what a person usually plays.
And new a system of hashtags organizes the music - if a track has a label like #bootleg, it is grouped with others that share that style. By selecting the tags, a listener finds more audio with the same attributes. For the person who uploads the file, there is an option to include those tags so that the music is easier to categorize.
In a commercial context, the platform is able to offer this function as a standalone music service or as an addition to Telegram Premium. It is that this method can the application more useful and ensures that people continue to use the service.
By adding tools to play audio, the platform is able to become a digital system that links messaging with other services. There is a way to find new tracks through public channels to expand the range of content.
The new hashtag system I came up with hasn't been added to anyone's services yet. If this feature is added to Telegram Music, it will definitely be a new way to find music in your favorite genre.
