A bug occurred in Telegram Stories: after posting and deleting a story, the system incorrectly counts the usage limit. Even after more than 48 hours, the ability to post new stories has not been restored, and a message appears requiring Telegram Premium. The issue occurs across multiple devices, indicating a server-side problem rather than a user or app error.
Steps to reproduce
Open Telegram and go to the Stories section.
Post a new story.
Delete the story before or shortly after it expires.
Wait more than 48 hours.
Try to post a new story.
The app shows a message that Telegram Premium is required, even though the limit should have reset.
EXPLANATION:
There's a limit on total stories that can be posted without Premium. It's not just a limit on the number of stories in the last 24 hours.
If the app requires Premium to post new stories, then the limit has already been reached.
Device info
The issue occurs on any device and platform (app and browser), so it is not device-specific.
Hello, as already explained in the past comment, the deletion of past stories does not impact the total number of past published stories. So, in other words, if the ability to post new stories has not been restored, it means that you've already reached the maximum number of free stories in the entire past life of the account you are using.
This account is from 2024 for sure. And two stories is the limit? Then why is there no limit for the same profile. I understand that the maximum level may have been reached, but why is it not the same.
I do not receive a Premium warning. The Stories feature is completely missing on my main account. There is no Stories section in Privacy settings. Another account on the same iPhone can post Stories normally.
"There is no Stories section in Privacy settings." this is intended. The story's privacy settings are showed and defined for each story.
Regarding the missing storie feature, we need some additional information to investigate the problem further. Could you please contact support here t.me/+42439? Then select "Skip and proceed to volunteers" using the bot's buttons and send a #c60291 tag to the chat. Our volunteers will be in touch shortly.

How about Iranian non-premium users? Telegram has announced the iranian user can post stories limitedly, and it refreshes every certain period of time. But, after 3 stories, I can not post any story at all, even after a week.
Iranian non-Premium users are now able to post Stories with limited usage, but on my main account I cannot post any stories at all.
When I tap the Stories "+" button, Telegram immediately shows:
"Posting stories is currently only available to subscribers of Telegram Premium."
However, another non-Premium account on the same iPhone can post Stories normally.
So this appears to be an account-specific issue affecting only my main accoun

I am the author of this report. It has been two days, and the issue still persists. I cannot post stories, even though I have no active stories and nothing in my archive. The app continues to incorrectly require Telegram Premium.

Additionally, this account was created in 2024. I have only ever posted two stories, and both of them were deleted. Currently, there are no active or archived stories, but the "limit reached" error remains.

Title: Cannot Post Stories with Iranian Number Without Premium
Description:
Hello,
According to the February 2026 update, Telegram announced that Iranian users without Premium can post one Story per day. However, I cannot post Stories with my Iranian number and non-Premium account. Every time I try, I get an error message saying I need to buy a Premium account.
• I have an Iranian phone number • My Premium subscription has expired • Telegram is updated to the latest version • I cleared the cache, logged out and logged back in, but it didn't work
