Furthermore you should know, that that isn't a security feature because you still have the same ID.

the idea is not to hide who you are is to have a different name depending if the group if you are in a work related group you are not going to use a name like BIGDic28 or xXDarklordXx

For a privacy and security reason it can also be given the possibility
to change the user ID, just like it's suggested here:

This feature is very useful, Discord has this (and even an option to change avatar per channel) and might be a good inspiration.
We really need to change our name or even avatar for a specific group, Like our full name and position in work group with our profile image of ourselves, or our nickname on public chats or just our first name in friends group with our funny picture as avatar :)
And yes it's not a security or privacy feature thus people still can see our default name and avatar in our profile, and it's fine, but still it's very useful to change name and profile in messages list in group and members list.

It would be a big problem to implement that from a technical standpoint.
To keep it short: You can't change the ID, it has to stay the same, always.

We need the functionality of aliases in channels and groups. How it works? For example, my nickname in telegram is Hello123, but in one group I want to "be known as" - "Apollo 45 cm" in another group I want to "be known as" - "Ilon Tesla inc", in the third group I want to "be known as" - "Administrator". At first glance, there is no direct functionality in the settings of groups and chats, but for advanced users it is possible to send messages on behalf of the channel in which they are the owner. But all this is not suitable if you are trying to organize a very important chat for the tenants of an apartment building, who at the most they can connect via a link to a channel and a group. I am interested in the following possibility: for the owner and (or) administrators of the channel \ group, two switches appear in the settings: 1 - Use aliases and 2 - (depending on the first) - Change only for the administrator. If 1 = true & 2 = false - initially the user is assigned an alias that matches his nickname andundefined the ability to edit this alias is allowed in the chat / channel settings (which is a property of this chat / group only), messages are published under the user's nickname and alias specified in brackets, for example: Hello123 (app 54). In the case of 1 = true & 2 = true - the same functionality as described above, but editing additional aliases of channel / group members is available only to administrators.

Needful feature. I usually create a telegram group for the students attending my course each term for sharing information and course discussions. However, I have difficulty to recognize the student names during this short period of connection since most of them do not use their original name as their username for the sake of privacy issues with others outside the class. It would be nice if telegram allows to set custom names for the member of each group which only appear for that group so that the group members could see the official or customized name of their fellow members only when browsing inside that group.
