Hello,
I am using the new Oppo Reno 15 Pro. The camera hardware on this device is exceptionally high-end, but I am facing significant issues with video messages (circles) in Telegram. It seems the app cannot handle the high-quality stream from this new model, resulting in a terrible, blurry effect in standard mode.
I have attempted to fix this using the Camera2 API via the Debug Menu. While this noticeably improves the front camera quality, it creates a 'disco/flickering' effect on the rear camera, making it impossible to use.
I have already tried several common troubleshooting steps, including:
Adjusting system refresh rates.
Disabling system-level 'Video Beauty' and retouching effects.
Clearing app cache and media cache.
Following various AI-generated suggestions (like blur settings and focus adjustments).
None of these methods resolved the flickering on the rear camera or the poor quality in default mode. Since this is a new flagship device, it clearly needs better optimization from the Telegram side to correctly interface with Oppo’s latest camera drivers.
Please look into providing a fix for the Reno 15 series in future updates.
Steps to reproduce
Here are the exact steps to reproduce the issue:
Open any chat in Telegram.
Hold the camera icon to start recording a video message (circle).
Observe the quality: The image is extremely blurry and low-resolution in default mode.
Go to Settings -> scroll down to the version number -> long press twice to open the Debug Menu.
Enable Camera2 API (this improves the front camera quality).
Switch to the rear camera while recording a video message.
Result: The rear camera starts flickering uncontrollably ('disco' effect).
