It is a bug, in public channels it does show similar channels, but in private channels it does not appear.

The report is clearly telling you that if you switch from a public channel to a private one, it still shows similar channels, which should not appear since it is private.

The bug occurs when you switch from public to private, so it is a good report, it has also happened to me, let's see if they review it and fix it.

With your thinking, then you will also find it ok that if you have an exclusive members-only club on a famous street in your city, I go in and as members come in, I give them flyers advertising the competing clubs so they go to those clubs instead of staying at your club. (I think if I did that, you'd kick me out of there quickly.) That is what Telegram is doing right now with PRIVATE channels that were once public.

😂U gave ur own example, gave ur own answer, u judged what others will do by yourself. And of course the TV in my nearby private club is advertising about the competitors. While searching Amazon Google ads and sponsored showing their competitors. In the same website Amazon is suggesting other brand products when u search for a brand product. Also there are multiple different showroom brands in the same street.
🤡 It's not the year 2000, where u don't know the competitors price and pros and ended up buying stuff without having the chance to know about others.

Only the private club which have overpriced and doesn't provide good services are the only ones worry about competition🙂. If u can't swallow the truth that's ur problem. Best of luck

Of course it's a bug. That may not need to be fixed. Since suggestions doesn't show any private channels. Anyway those who are afraid of competition are worrying the most it seems.

You're mixing up concepts... Google makes money if its competitors advertise on the platform, Amazon makes money even if it sells its competitors' products. What does a private Telegram channel gain by inviting its members to go to the competitors? Losing money. I don't think you and I will come to an understanding, good luck to you too.

Really if it is a bug of Telegram, I have a channel of 19500 members, I had it a few months ago in public and now having it in private still appears similar channels.

I have colleagues who have it in private and they do not appear because they never put it public, the error comes just when you change from public to private.

So u accept showing competitors in Google because they get money🤣. LoL. Again and again, u show how much u are vulnerable to competition. Make better contents, don't rely on gimmicks always.
All u say is how much it is a loss for u.
All I say is how much it benefit the users🙂. Of course I can't agree as a user. Only those afraid of letting users see the competition worry.

Other bugs exist in telegram, suddenly some people are worrying about a bug which benefits the users🤡.

Shoyo, understand that the problem is not that, the problem is that in private channels do not appear similar channels, only in public.

The other things don't matter, they are opinions, what is not an opinion is that when you switch from public to private it still appears, which should not be the case.

I hope you understand now, it is not about competition or not, it is that there is a bug when you switch from public to private.

Also private channels shouldn't have similar channels isn't a rule, LoL. It's just not Shown when the similar channelsfeature is initially implemented. 🙂 That's all. And that's a good bug because it helps users.

Also think about this, People who are making channels public for getting shown in similar channels suddenly change into private and don't want the users to know about their competitor 🤡. LoL
And it's not just opinion, people afraid of competition vs users benefiting. Basic common sense will say what's objectively right 🙂👍

I am going to give my opinion, I have a private channel and it does not appear in similar channels, however in the public ones it does appear.

I have tried to put it in public and it has appeared similar channels, but when I put it back to private it still appears which before did not appear and in any private channel appears.

Therefore, it is clearly a bug.

It happened to me 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for them to fix it, it's one of the biggest bugs I've seen in years using Telegram.

I think the bug is when you switch it from public to private, it stays as if it was public, it's a serious bug 👎.

They should fix it as soon as possible or people will stop having channels.
