I suggest adding a setting to "Telegram for Android" and "Telegram Desktop" to disable link previews in all posts. This is true for those who also prefer not to see stickers in chats, which leave less space for other content. Most webpages do not provide hypertext articles with link preview boxes, and most web users have been fine with this for nearly three decades.
I will clarify that we are only talking about disabling the display of link previews specifically in the current Telegram client under this account.
Please turn off link previews by default. They are ugly, take up space, and also a security risk.

Please, add this simple feat to have more confortable channels and chats, the previews are so big and add garbage between actual text messages!

Please provide a setting to optionally disable displaying a preview of a link. For instance, I just added the term ETA to my message and wish to link to the wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_time_of_arrival. However, this abbreviation and the explanatory link both have nothing to do with the main content of my post, so it is really painful and disrupting to have the huge preview taking over all the screen estate instead of the message that I intend.
