In public groups, access to the list of members should not be allowed, nor should profile photos be clickable (to prevent access to profiles), unless the user is part of the group.
In fact it would go even further:
In addition to the above, any public group / channel to which a user is not joined, will remain in read mode, only being allowed to view and copy (tap on the message > copy) and nothing else, especially prevent forwarding.
Someone will say "if the group is public, everything is public", but I do not agree at all.
Being public and having privacy should not be incompatible in any case.
Apart from the above, it is urgent to improve the way in which two strangers can interact, for example, using a service chat with requests of the type "this user wants to talk to you, accept?"
That would prevent 90% of spam messages, a majority of which are SCAM and NSFW.
Yes, please, add this msg: "this user wants to talk to you, accept?". 👍👍👍

I need this Please : this user wants to talk to you, accept?". And Line contact options, like: only receive contact messages and send me a request to start a chat. Messenger has this option too.
Steve
Yes this would be a massive addition particularly in all of the crypto groups where scamming is prominent and constant, I absolutely want to hide my username and for no one to be able to DM me just because I’m in the group, group participation is not consent for DMs, there’s plenty of groups I passively participate in and I don’t want to sacrifice my privacy to be there.
I downvoted this because as a suggestion card it contains too many requests. I agree with most them except one, but I can choose which one to upvote and which one to downvote. Please consider editing this card to only keep the most important change you want, and create new cards for the other changes
For example, if you change this card to only say : "Regarding privacy in public groups. In public groups, access to the list of members should not be allowed, nor should profile photos be clickable (to prevent access to profiles), unless the user is part of the group." I'm sure many people will have an easier time agreeing with this and upvoting it

Denying privacy must have a very strong argument in my opinion.
The auto-archive feature seems like a very bad solution to the problem, as it causes new problems like losing legitimate chats for weeks / months.
Nobody checks the archived section daily.
You can read comments, but not have access to profiles
For example, if you change this card to only say :
"Regarding privacy in public groups.
