I am an Android user myself, and I don't think that the current Apple-style emoji set is the the absolute best emoji set out there. I agree there are better emoji sets. But well, as long as emoji set gets it's job done (delivering a picture that I intend to deliver) don't care much for whatever set is used. What I really DO care about is that my message is received EXACTLY the way I have sent it, no matter what device and what OS I and my contact are using at any given time. That's my freedom to send messages uniformly across platforms :-)

@Vitor @Victor I can understand WHY you want custom emoji sets. But you have to also understand that that will introduce a myriad of problems, which I described. So what is your solution? You can't just focus on the parts you like and ignore the problems :-) By your logic, if you are a big fan of black-and-white photography, why not have "freedom" to make Telegram automatically apply black-and-white filter to every photo that you receive? You see photo in BW like you want, your sender sees it in color like he intended. Great, right? No, that would be silly :-) Extending this logic even further, let's say you don't like to read or hear certain words. So why not make a custom words list in Telegram, so every time someone sends you "Facebook", it is changed to "ZuckerCorp", because that's the way you prefer to read it. I hope you see where this goes :-)

This has nothing with my logic. I just want to be able to choose the emojis I want to use and that doesn't affect usability at all. The Telegram for Windows and the Telegram X has it and no one has this problem.

If people really need custom emoji sets for some reason, the ONLY reasonable way to implement this feature is the same way as sticker-packs: letting users install as many emoji packs as they like, and sending whatever one they like from whatever pack. Meaning that the recepient will always see the exact same emoji from the exact same set.

Making particular users choose their own particular emoji sets which are not uniform across platform is a really bad idea, no matter how common this mistake is.

You can't prevent people make their own decisions based on your decision.

It's selfishness. It's undemocratic. It's absolutist. Very different from everything Telegram preaches.

Emojis from Apple, Google and Samsung follow strict design rules imposed by Unicode. But, even if this impaired communication, it would be up to the user.

Dude, please stop this. This silly discussion about emojis is becoming annoying. Just give who want the ability to do what they want and done!

Okay let me explain this one last time to you :-) If I send you and emoji of a peach because it looks like a woman's butt, and instead of a woman's butt what you see on your screen is a grapefruit... Then we clearly have a miscommunication!

I end this discussion with you here, because you choose to ignore facts in favor of your personal opinion.

The LG doesn't use the emojis anymore. On Android devices we have just the Samsung and Google, that are, now, following the streak the new guidelines from Unicode.

+++ Let users choose, more freedom = better experience.
I don't wanna spend/waste a lot of time here (so I wont be responding) on debating whether or not is is better to have a choice, or get ****** (controlled) by big corporations, being FORCED to use something like NPCs, with people like PJ, who seems to have a lot of free time to repeat one argument over and over again, till people get bored and leave. But for any sane person who wants to have FREEDOM and CHOICE, and not get their life controlled by other people, I think even things as small as changing your emoji font (as pointless and bizarre as it seems) is a really great idea, and definitely should be implemented. 🕊️🕊️🕊️
