Audio is flickering in RTMP stream, this has been happening since the first Beta that introduced RTMP and has not been fixed yet.
I asked in my ROM group if anyone else was having the issue, and there is no one.
One way I found to solve the issue is to use some Telegram third-party application that has the option "use media stream in video chats", which used to be present in Telegram's Debug menu but is no longer
Steps to reproduce
Go to any RTMP Stream in a group or channel
Device info
Redmi Note 7 (lavender)
Android 12 - Arrow OS 12.0 Weekly
Telegram 8.6.x (reproducible from the first beta to the current one)
It doesn't just happen on RTMP streams, also happens in any "old" Live streams.
Specifically since they were launched in August
And yes, it works fine if Media Stream is used (removed from debug menu months ago). thanks for the tests
Device and ROMs tested: Xiaomi Mi A2, Android 10 One (stock) and Android 11 (crDroid)

I have exactly the same problem. All the streams that I watched were with a flickering sound. I don't know if it was RTMP streams or not. Device: Xiaomi Mi A2, Android 10 One.

I'm seeing this probelm on Android devices only; the sound is scratchy and a bit laggy if not totally lost. The live stream is OK on iOS.
I'm having the same problem: the flickering audio seems to be an Android Problem. Any solutions?

I want to do RTMP streaming on Telegram with OBS Studio, but with this issue is not good

Same problem here on Redmi Note 11 with Android 12 and MIUI 13.

Bumping this to give more attention to the issue, which seems to concern Xiaomi (including Redmi and POCO) devices on MIUI - also, I can reproduce the issue for RTMP Streams only.
I found a workaround for Telegram 9.7.5 (maybe for older versions too): you just have to record the screen with "Sound source" set to "System sounds".
This allows you to *almost* eliminate the issue (with much effort you can still hear some minor inconsistencies, but the flickering definitely goes away).
Just make sure to set all the other recording parameters to the minimum (resolution, frame rate, quality; see attachment) to avoid to fill your entire device.
