You are right. I'd love in my channel to display only yellow, not attention-grabbing reactions. This set, for instance :

Note that the current colour of the ♥️ reaction is too vivid, that's why i'd love 💛 instead.

In this case, 💛 serves as a like (👍). Also, 😐 (or ☹️) can serve as a dislike (👎).

Too yellow would be a problem, that's why i propose less yellowish reactions (cf picture).

I'd like to second this, i.e. it would be great if arbitrary emojis could be used. Ofc this creates the problem that a huge number of different emojis might be used as reaction to a single message which is hard to display - not in private chats though, since one can't react with more than 1 emoji. A few ideas on that:

1. admins could be limited in the number of emojis that they allow - but not in the choice of emojis.
2. emojis with different skin color values could be grouped.
3. display only the first x emojis that got the most reactions + possibly some kind of "show more" field

the first one would be a server-side limitation. 2+3 could probably be realized largely client-side and can even be combined

After one week into the update, i've become sick of the yellow colour.
This colour is in fact sickening.

I second the idea of a different skin colour. The yellow colour is horrible with a yellow-green background.

That wasn't my point. I rather meant: If it were allowed to react with _any_ emoji, a message might get reactions 🧑, 🧑🏻, 🧑🏼, 🧑🏽, 🧑🏾 and 🧑🏿. My suggestion is now to group those reactions together and display only one of those variants. Which emoji variant to choose for that is another question - personally I would in fact choose the yellow one.

favorite emojis. Instead of arguing about specific emojis, please just

Admins deleted that one, and told me to list emojis I want. This is a misunderstanding, that card was really distinct, I want to be able to choose from *all* of the emojis. Just like in Signal, Matrix, Slack, Mattermost,... And no need for those over-the-top animations, that's just raising the effort unnecessarily. That's a spontaneous list of additional emojis I like to use:
🤪🤔😬🤡🤯🤨🙃🥳🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
But as I said, every social group has their own favorites, and should be able to use those.
