There are several popular channels that are being spoofed through direct messaging. The direct messages do not show the user name when you look at the profile, they only show the display name. This is happening more frequently. Very popular accounts with 1 million followers or hundreds of thousands of followers are having people report that they are receiving direct messages from them when the person running the account did not send a direct message.
Many times these fake direct messages ask the question “how long have you been following my channel?”
People can be very easily scammed if they can’t confirm who is actually sending them a message.
PLEASE ADD THE USER NAME IN DIRECT MESSAGES! I get spoof accounts almost daily now or multiple times a day. This really lessens Telegram's integrity. TRUTH is coming so you need to get these bots and spoofers under control for me to spend my time here. Thank you!!

It was really an invasion of my privacy, I was sure Praying Medic had some help for me personally, or I would never have chatted with the impostor. Kindly take action now. Thank you

I have also been hit with this problem. I did not fall for it because I was warned. This could lead to fraud.
