Screen sharing from the Telegram Android client during calls exhibits unstable performance (constant freezing/stuttering) or is completely non-functional, preventing users from reliably sharing content. The ability to switch on the front/rear camera video works normally.
EXPERIENCE
Caller: Contact using Telegram Android (Device: Samsung S23 Ultra, OS: Android 16, UI: One UI 8) initiates a call.Recipient: I answer using Telegram Desktop. Recipient successfully shares screen (Desktop Android). Caller attempts to share screen (Android → Desktop).Observation: The shared screen image freezes (stutters) every few seconds on the recipient's side, forcing the caller to stop and immediately re-initiate the screen sharing process repeatedly.Troubleshooting Performed by Caller (No Fix):
Disabled Power Saving Mode. Attempted to share the entire screen vs. sharing a single application.
TESTS
I initiate a call using my own Telegram Android device to an account logged into Telegram Desktop. I attempt to activate screen sharing from the Android device.Observation: I was unable to activate the screen share at all (a complete failure, worse than the stuttering observed in Scenario 1). The same complete failure occurred when initiating a call and attempting to share the screen from Telegram Android to an Unigram client.
Context and Prior Evidence
Successful Sharing: Screen sharing between Telegram Desktop and Unigram clients works correctly. The issue is specific to the source being Telegram Android.Previous Incidents: I observed the exact same behavior in mid-June 2024 with a different contact (Device: Honor 200, OS: Android 15).
