It would be very helpful to have an option in Telegram's settings to disable the automatic "Picture-in-Picture" (PiP) function when swiping up on a video. Many users find it inconvenient when PiP activates by default, especially if they don't want to continue watching a video while using other parts of the app. This feature would give users more control over their experience, allowing them to decide whether or not to enable PiP. Having the ability to disable PiP on swipe up would improve user satisfaction, as it reduces accidental activations and distractions during app usage.
The new "swipe up for picture-in-picture mode" improvement is slow. When exiting the mode, the entire UI freezes for almost a second. Also, after two weeks of use, I still haven't gotten used to it. I scroll through the tape from the bottom up, it was very convenient to close the videos swipe up as well, and now every time I make a "mistake" a buggy mode opens, which slows everything down. Maybe my iPhone 14 Pro Max is slow, but it's still extremely inconvenient. Nerve cells do not regenerate.

Or at least change the direction, do PiP on swipe down. Swipe up is a UX pattern to skip to the next content, developed over the years with services like TikTok, Reels, etc.

Geez, I thought I'm the only one whom this feature is driving mad.
