The current display of reactions on one-on-one chats on iOS has been a disaster from the start. Why are reactions not displayed like they are in groups? below the message with a small profile picture of the person who reacted?
Currently (as shown in the screenshots) on one-on-one chats there are 3 types of display for reactions:
single reaction - a barely visible icon below the timestamp - that can be easily missed, and at a first glance you never know who actually reacted? You or the other party? I know its odd to react to your own messages, but sometimes you do that by mistake and you dont notice (tap twice for example) - and when you go back to the chat later this can be quite confusing!
multiple reactions of the same type - if both parties reacted on a single message in addition to the absurdly small icon there is an even more absurd digit that seems to display the number of people reacted - as they if they can be more than two?
multiple reactions of different types - in that case reactions are displayed normaly - just like in groups, its easy to determine who reated what.
Why cant the third one be the default option? Not only is it more clear for both parties who reacted, but it also brings uniformity thru the entire app - which leads to way better UX. It seems to be the same mess on Android.
Just FIY the native macOS app was made exactly the same, but singe 9.4 they finally fixed it, and now reactions are uniform across the whole app (thank god for that)!
Please telegram, consider changing this - it really should be extremely easy on your side and will certainly bring better experience to your users
