This issue / bug isn't fixed yet on Android 11 on Huawei P40 with TG v8.2.2. I'm still having the same issue. Still not able to manually save images to gallery. I already deleted and reinstalled TG but the bug is still present. In the previous versions it was working fine.... Please advise / fix this bug for
Also, you guys could do just like another famous messenger, where the files moved to android/data, but remained the same folders structure, separate folders specifying images, stickers, documents, videos, gifs, etc. In Telegram, now everything is in a single folder, named CACHE and, even after deleting the .nomedia file, Google Photos can't backup the media. Do I need to go to EACH image/video and select save to gallery?! That's not a great way to handle this....
This is not fixed and needs go to be asap, it significant hinders user experience and migrating from whatsapp for privacy concerns I want to stick with telegram!
With 8.2.3 update, looks like the issues are fixed, well, at least for me. But there's still a small issue. The "save to gallery" function doesn't work on videos and you gotta use "save to downloads". Everything else seems fine.
About that issue with manual video saving, how have you done it? There are two ways: 1) open the video in fullscreen, 3 dots on top-right, save it in the gallery 2) press near the video in the chat history and save it in gallery.
Due to our checks, you used the 2nd way. If yes, can you try with 1st way?
Yes, I used the 2nd way. I checked the 1st way and it works fine. Saves the video in Movies/Telegram.
Thanks for confirm. Dev team is aware of that.
>>With update to 8.2+ of Android app, Telegram changed the cache directory to /storage/Android/data/org.telegram.messenger. okay, files are there but my Huawei Honor 20S doesn't list this folder in the gallery. Telegram version 8.2.2. Android 10. Is there any way to list the new saved images in the device Picture gallery?
