Same here on Oneplus 5. The saved location of the files has been moved from Gallery to the internal app folder, so the S.O. can not discover the downloaded Media and seems like nothing has been downloaded. Please fix the save to gallery path location, restore the save into the Media.Gallery and not in the internal app storage

Also, you guys could do just like another famous messenger, where the files moved to android/data, but remained the same folders structure, separate folders specifying images, stickers, documents, videos, gifs, etc. In Telegram, now everything is in a single folder, named CACHE and, even after deleting the .nomedia file, Google Photos can't backup the media. Do I need to go to EACH image/video and select save to gallery?! That's not a great way to handle this....
This is not fixed and needs go to be asap, it significant hinders user experience and migrating from whatsapp for privacy concerns I want to stick with telegram!
