I really do wish that Telegram would reconsider putting up sponsored ads in channels. I've always kept it as my safe zone while the rest of the internet is saturated with ads.
If the ads are going to stay, it'd be nice to at least give channel admins the power to chose which ads show up on their channel. Or possibly even give channels the option to opt out of sponsored ads. Making the ads more distinct from regular posts would be nice too. Thank you

I'd also like to add that one alternative could involve a subscription plan (yearly or monthly) to avoid ads, and have control over what ads (if any) get shown on channels run by you. I do believe that the folks who run telegram deserve to get payed for their hard work, but having the option to opt out of ads would be awesome.
Y'all honestly expected telegram to stay completely free forever? Lol

Getting progressively worse, Telegram is becoming every day more similar to Meta

I personally find insane what people ask for. It's a free app that is (supposedly) not selling users data, unlike most other similar apps, while still using private servers (also possible to send peer to peer messages). It allows you to store as much stuff as you want, files up to 2GB, with no limit. Arguably the best client in an app of this type so far. And just because they put ads in SOME huge channels/groups, which can be removed by paying... I think it is 30 euros A YEAR, people are raging?
Some people shouldn't have access to shit, tbh. When I was a teenager I would've killed for having what telegram offers. Nowadays, we all have it, and for free. But I guess there will always be ingrates, that will not only not contribute to anything in any possible way, but also won't shut the fuck up.
You might notice that the original post actually says "an alternative could be a subscription plan to remove ads". This ticket was created before telegram premium was added, so premium kind of solves this issue.

Telegram did also promise when ads were introduced, that admins would be able to review ads that would appear in their channels, but such a feature still doesn't seem to have materialised, despite ads being expanded to more than just the originally promised text
